FLOW committed to employee health and wellness
THE NEWLY installed state-of-the-art fitness facility at the corporate offices of FLOW is a measure of the telecommunications company’s commitment to its staff welfare, making it evident that health and wellness is a top priority.
On September 1, FLOW’s managing director, Stephen Price, cut the ribbon to the new multimillion-dollar FLOW Flex Gym, located at the FLOW complex on Carlton Crescent, St Andrew.
Complete with more than 40 equipment points, the brandnew facility also boasts an aerobics room with further development plans to install an artificial futsal court and a juicebar where employees will be able to access healthy treats throughout the workday. Plans are also under way to expand the offerings of the facility to include other forms of recreation.
Mauleen Haynes, FLOW’s employee relations manager, explained that the new facility is one of many milestones set by the company as it seeks to promote health and wellness as a critical component of its corporate culture.
Led by a team of like-minded employee volunteers, FLOW has established a multifaceted Health and Wellness programme that incorporates regular checkups done by the company’s registered nurses for both employees in office and
technicians in the field, counselling services, internal sporting competitions, and fitness challenges, as well as a monthly email series that equips employees with regular tips on how to improve their physical, mental and emotional well-being. So far, Haynes says the programme is reaping results.
FLOW has also invested in a highly reputable fitness coach to help its employees achieve their physical goals. Kirk Dunn, more popularly known by his Body by Kurt fitness regime, is currently engaged as the gym manager at FLOW.
The new FLOW Flex Gym is open 24 hours and is accessible free of cost to FLOW employees.
