LEG DAY in Forest Gardens
THE RESIDENTS of Forest Gardens in St Andrew were determined to take on The Gleaner’s Fit 4 Life challenge, and that they did, giving it their all to keep up with every challenge fitness coach Marvin Gordon set for them.
Starting with warmups, it was straight into a cardio session, then strength training, working the legs with a series of squats and lunges. Everyone dug deep to find the energy to keep up, some eventually sitting it out. But overall they were true champions as they stuck with Gordon and powered through the routine, right into cool down and stretches.
Sponsor WATA kept everyone hydrated throughout.
After the workout, everyone enjoyed a delicious, hot bowl of Foska Oats’ new line of instant porridge, trying the various flavours on offer. Blue Diamond Almond also gave away packets of the nut. All perfect for after a workout session. Next, it was on to the WATA challenge, with some very determined ladies and gentlemen racing against the clock to complete four laps across the distance with three cases of WATA.
Challenge winners earned prizes such as gift baskets from sponsors Foska Oats and Blue Diamond Almond Milk, Fit 4 Life T-Shirts, membership to Life Fit Training Centre, Jamaica Moves T-shirts, and Gleanerbranded merchandise.
Everyone also got handouts with nutrition and exercise tips courtesy of Fit 4 Life.
Nuff respect to the Forest Gardens residents and everyone who came out.
