Courts donates wellness equipment to Jonathan Grant High
COURTS JAMAICA Ltd, in its continued community outreach drive, has donated a complete bed set, a nurse’s chair, and pillows to the staff wellness centre at Jonathan Grant High School in St Catherine.
The items, worth $100,000, were handed over to the school by representatives of Courts at the school yesterday.
Marketing officer at Courts, Denise Richards, said that the company has expanded its community outreach over the years, donating over $5 million worth of items to different facilities in Jamaica since Labour Day.
“We have expanded our outreach in Jamaica, giving away items such as microwaves, mattresses, flat screen television sets, irons, and much more to police stations across the island,” she disclosed.
“Our effort here at Jonathan Grant is in response to an appeal from the school for these items for the staff wellness centre.”
Added Richards: “Courts was happy to assist, since our focus on educational institutions continues to be an important aspect of our community outreach.”
School nurse Dean Marie White said that the items are of great value to the school.
“Teachers now have a wellness centre well equipped. I cannot overemphasise how valuable these items are. We thank the representatives of Courts for their prompt response,” she stated.
Principal of the school, Dr O’Niel Ankle, while thanking Courts, heaped praise on White for what he described as her sterling contribution in building the school.
“She is a remarkable person. Rather than complaining, she uses whatever she has at her disposal and makes things happen,” Ankle said.
He pledged the school’s readiness to forge a good relationship with Courts.
