WEDDINGS IN Jamaica are traditionally held at churches, while some opt f or scenic beaches and gardens. In recent times, however, the famed Hope Zoo in St Andrew, long known as a fun place for families to visit, has been growing in popularity as a venue of choice for couples to tie the knot.

Hope Zoo as a wedding venue, just might be the ideal location for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.

Kasheema Jeffer y, guest relations and events manager at the zoo said that a zoo wedding is a superb option for lovers to consider.

“A zoo wedding is different from what people know. I n addition, Hope Zoo is very beautiful, the atmosphere is different, and there are many beautiful locations. The wedding areas are just ver y beautiful,” Jeffery told Living.

PACKAGES

The zoo offers several wedding packages to suit a couple’s desires and tastes. Packages start as low as $75,000 for enchanting ceremonies. A unique aspect of each package is the opportunity to interact with the animals and explore the zoo on a fun tour. The dancing macaws, colour ful peacocks, beautiful pacas and the amazing iguanas are a few of the animals that wedding guests can interact with.

Some of the top choices for wedding venues are the Macaw Lawn, Serengeti, The Circle, The Hope Zoo dam, and the Ibis Gazebo and Lawn.

“Hope Zoo dam is our premium location. You cannot go anywhere else in Jamaica and get a location as beautiful as this, especially with the mountains in the background. It’s also perfect for an evening wedding when it is cool,” Jeffery noted.

Depending on the venue one chooses, the benefits and features vary. Events coordinator at Hope Zoo, Carissa Wint, explained that the zoo also offers catering, entertainment packages, and decor arrangements for the ceremonies, and is willing to go the extra mile to outsource other services that clients may request.

“With our services, you will only need a wedding planner on your wedding day,” Wint said.

Hope Zoo also has some of the most exquisite sites for wedding photos, designed for breathtaking photos that could make couples the envy of the town.

“You can take photos anywhere and they will be beautiful. But the Bobcat Lawn, Serengeti, and Macaw Lawn are the top places for photos,” Wint said.

Both Jeffery and Wint guarantee that couples will not be disappointed with the venue.

“We get good feedback from our clients. They always tell us that their weddings were great,” Wint said.
