Our students excel in several areas

-

THE ST John’s Preparatory School is under the direction of the Diocese of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Founded on April 25, 1960, by Canon Lorry B Harrison, the school is situated on Shaw Park Road in St Ann, overlooking the picturesque Caribbean sea. It is the oldest prep school in the region.

Students are admitted from ages three-plus to 12 years old.

St John’s Preparatory School has a trained staff with years of service and experience, and uses of the National Standards Curriculum. Our vision is demonstrated in the number of active service clubs that have gained regional and national recognition in clubrelated activities (K-Kids, Wellness and Environment Club, Brownies, Cub Scouts).

The school is high on cultural awareness, and our students are exposed to, and perform exceptionally well in music and dance. This has earned us gold medals in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s competitions.

At St John’s Preparatory School, we are passionate about sports. We have been the defending champions of the Jamaica Independent Schools Association Western Championship for four of five years.

In the Grade Six Achievement Test, we get exceptional passes to the top high schools in Kingston and St Andrew and St Ann.

St John’s Preparatory School places great value on moral and spiritual development.
