Kudos to staff at Constant Spring tax office

-

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HAD great pleasure in dealing with three government employees at the Constant Spring tax office, viz, Denise Powell, M. Harriat, and Otis Roberts.

On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, I arrived at the tax office some time after 9 a.m. Finally, after going around two times, I was able to find parking, went inside and stood in line to pay for my trade licence.

I had to join two different lines – one for the documents, and another to pay. Then I returned to collect the licence.

Upon reaching the counter, Otis Roberts, the service rep, told me I would not be able to pay for my trade licence because of a technicality. I explained that I would not be able to return in April to do so.

Instead of insisting that there was nothing he could do, he said he would speak with his supervisor (D. Powell) who, in turn, went out of her way to check someone else about it, and then was passed on to M. Harriat.

Though I was in the tax office for about four hours, I am happy to say that I was able to secure the trade licence. I hasten to also mention the male cashier, who was equally pleasant and helpful (I neglected to get his name).

It is so refreshing, despite many other bad experiences at various government agencies, to have received such excellent service from these said persons.

H.L.
