History of Visionaires Apostolic

-

VISIONAIRES APOSTOLIC was birthed through a vision from God over 12 years ago through its Founding President, Bishop Dr. Robert O. Coates, JP, and came to realisation on April 14, 2008.

Regular Monday Bible study and prayer meetings were held on the verandah of Bishop Coates’ home but due to the growth, it was moved downstairs to his garage.

The Apostolic teaching continued to spread throughout the Rose Heights community and other neighbouring districts. Based on this, there was a constant cry for Sunday worship services, which commenced on Sunday, September 28, 2008. Bishop Coates, his wife and family, opened their home for divine Sunday and Sunday-night services, and Bible study and prayer meetings which were held on Monday nights. By this, many persons were being baptised in Jesus’ name, and receiving the Holy Ghost as the rich presence of God was clearly seen and felt in the garage.

In September 2008, Bishop Coates determinedly sought to buy property in and around Montego Bay. The extremely high prices did not deter his faith and after spotting a beautiful piece of land, he walked the property, claiming it in Jesus’ name. On Sunday, June 28, 2009, Bishop Coates led the ministers on to Lot 8 Vernon’s Drive for a dynamic prayer meeting. The scripture that was read was Psalm 24: “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein.” After praying, Bishop Coates kissed the ground, and with much assurance and confidence declared that Visionaires Apostolic would be stationed on that same spot in the near future.

On January 20, 2012, the doors were opened to a section of the first phase of the building by Custos Rotulorum Ewen George Corrodus, CD, and Mrs Sheila Lewis. Since then, the church has seen growth spiritually as well as in the size of congregation, as many hungry and wounded souls are now experiencing new life in Jesus Christ.

Visionaires Apostolic has come this far by faith and we will continue to grow from strength to strength! The sanctuary is now completed with the official dedication date set for April 16, 2018.
