HARBOUR VIEW FC have received almost $1,000,000 in sponsorship from Barita Investments and Locker Room Sports to enable their Under-10 football team trip to Italy to participate in the Bandelino Italian Tournament next month.

Both companies presented the gifts to the team at the Harbour View Stadium on Saturday morning as the young Stars of the East went through a training session to prepare for facing on the likes of Juventus, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Italian clubs in the age-group competition.

Clyde Jureidini, the general manager of the club, said that Harbour View is the only club outside of Europe that is invited to the tournament.

Barita’s representative, Dianne Clunie, presented a cheque of $775,000 to help finance airfare and accommodation for the boys.

“What Harbour View is doing is something that Barita is interested in because we want to see the children grow and develop. We are happy to be a part of something that will expose our children,” Clunie said.

Managing director of Locker Room Sports, David Riley, presented the gear the team will be donning while they are in Italy.

“We have the match gear – home and away. One is going to be royal blue and the other will be Harbour View yellow. We also have the training gear and track suits that you will be travelling in,” Riley told the boys as he presented the kits.

The team departs the island for Italy on April 27.
