Watch Bad Boy Trump
THE CONNECTIONS of EDDIE’S PRINCESS have seemingly run out of patience with apprentice Javaneil Patterson and have now called on jockey Omar Walker to get the four-year-old filly in front among non-winners of two.
Patterson has been aboard the filly on her last six starts, placing second on three occasions and third, once. Tomorrow, she takes on a mainly out-of-form field over 1300 metres and Walker should make no mistake.
Going 1400 metres on April 7, EDDIE’S PRINCESS led by two lengths 200 metres out but was worn down by TRINI MAGIC close to home. A week later, she was again second in a 1200 metres event, this time beaten by ROCKDALE. These second-place finishes came in fairly good times, and against this very weak line-up, EDDIE’S PRINCESS should romp home.
STRONG FORM
The second race in the Sunrise-6 is confined to maidens going 1100 metres, and the Shane Ellis-ridden RUNDAZZLE looks set to get off the mark. She has been out of action since July last year when placing fourth by four lengths in a 1200metres race won by BELTANE in 1:14.4. The Carl Andersontrained four-year-old returns well-drilled, and a reproduction of that July 2017 effort will be more than enough to top this moderate field.
BAD BOY TRUMP has been displaying very strong form on the exercise track, and his connections could be eyeing the remaining Classic races. The Blue Pepsi Lodge – Turbinia threeyear-old colt galloped 1600 metres in 1:44.3 x 1:32.0 on May 5. Trained by Everal Francis, BAD BOY TRUMP clocked a very good 1:27.4 on April 21 when winning on just his second start. This third race is over the Lotto Classic distance (2000 metres), and it will be interesting to see how well he performs. Omar Walker has the ride.
Steven Todd’s ZILLOW was a big disappointment when strongly fancied at 3-2 last Saturday. He was eighth by 14 lengths in a nine-horse field, and something must have gone wrong. The connections have taken off the tongue tie and replaced Dick Cardenas with Jamaica Oaks-winning rider Linton Steadman. The threeyear-old colt ran well below the form he showed on his April 15 debut (minus tongue-tie) and is given another chance to get into the winners’ enclosure in the fourth race.
Take MILAGRO to win the fifth while champion trainer Wayne DaCosta has all the keys for the sixth, where SUPERTRONICS, to be ridden by the in-form jockey Gary Richards, is the firm selection.
