Achieving the golden jubilee milestone
THE PUBLIC Sector Employees Co-operative Credit Union (PSECCU) has maintained an outstanding level of service and professionalism, and continues to impress with its ability to offer a host of tailor-made plans and packages for members and their families all across the island. Since inception, the institution has not only been rebranded twice, but ensured that inclusion was a main feature of its expansion and benefits in finding the perfect operational fix.
I wish to congratulate the PSECCU on achieving the golden jubilee milestone spanning many generations, challenges and ever-changing circumstances, while keeping the hard-working members as the focus and main thrust for all implemented initiatives. You helped to craft and create major savings and investment options for countless public-sector employees and their families across the island who would have been omitted in the prior organisational structure. Formerly, it was restricted and only offered its services to members of the Island Special Constabulary Force. The subsequent merger between them and the Jamaica Constabulary Force fully bloomed into an inadvertent call for expansion.
This new move saw all public-sector workers and their families, including those with other credit union accounts, moving impressive sums to present-day figures five times higher in yield, deposits, share capital, and more than $2 billion in assets. The spread of branches across Jamaica facilitate easier reach and inclusion for all our public-sector employees and
matches our longstanding belief in long-term financial security for all Jamaicans. The various loan products and services should offer great options during the period of publicsector transformation and add to the many choices available to those moving on to other professional and personal pursuits. The PSECCU offers the greatest cushion, financial safety and security to our treasured publicsector employees.
As a member of the public sector myself, I wish to use this opportunity to again salute the hard-working, resilient and committed management and staff at the Public Sector Employees Co-operative Credit Union on this 50th anniversary celebration, and we anticipate even greater things as time endures across generations.
