Serving the children of the world
DIVISION 24, North East Jamaica, salutes all in this our District Convention Year. The gamut of Kiwanis service involves voluntary contributions to our communities and children in particular, empowering youth and providing leadership and holistic support for its members. The 11 clubs included in the division – Division 24 Online Jamaica, Port Antonio; St Georges, Buff Bay; Port Maria, St Mary; Ocho Rios, Garden Parish (Ocho Rios); Moneague; Brown’s Town; Charlton, Alexandria; and Discovery Bay – are a force to be respected. One hundred per cent of our clubs last year gained Distinguished Service Award at the district and international levels and are now on the path to continuing selfless ‘Service with Passion’.
Kiwanis clubs in Division 24 have for 2017-2018 served their service leadership programmes clubs in schools, assisted basic schools, sponsored newborn babies baskets to infants in hospitals on New Year’s Day, treated residents at our infirmaries, provided bursaries and scholarships, and sponsored technological items in schools. This year, we are donating firstaid kits to women centres in our region. Our division will donate US$1,000 to a needy basic school, donated by the Kiwanis Foundation of Jamaica, provide a water tank for an early childhood institution, and honour 110 outstanding citizens for community development and esprit de corps.
Let us retrospect and introspect in this our Eastern Canada and The Caribbean District Convention in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and be enriched and empowered to continue the mammoth task of ‘Serving The Children of the World.’
