As your co-operative celebrates its golden jubilee as a premier financial institution that provides quality service, it brings into sharp focus the reality of the proverb that, ‘The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’.

This significant milestone is an extraordinary accomplishment that epitomises the willpower of each member to create their personal and collective success within your organisation. Since its inception in 1968, Public Sector Employees Co-operative Credit Union has been steadfast in fulfilling its mandate of ‘creating a source of credit for its members at legitimate interest rates for provident and productive purposes’, through its wide range of products and services.

I commend the organisation for your invaluable contribution to nation building by being there for your members, especially in those critical moments when your services are needed most. I also applaud your deep interest in fulfilling your corporate social responsibility through activities such as the offering of grants and tertiary-education scholarships, as well as assisting children’s homes and disabled members of the Island Special Constabulary Force, among other initiatives.

As you continue to serve past and present public-sector employees and other members of the union, I wish for you continued success in making this organisation the place where our citizens’ financial security matters the most.
