Satisfy your appetite for Italian with Pizza Please!

- Jody-Anne Lawrence/Staff Reporter

FLAT CRUSTS, exquisite tomato sauce, cheese and your choice of meats or vegetables, Pizza Please offers mouth-watering pizza options and based on their customer’s demands, they had no choice but to expand their franchise.

Pizza Please! recently added their second home in the heart of Half-Way Tree, amid the hustle and bustle of university students trying to get to school or home. Owner Pietro Giuliani is Italy born and fell in love with Jamaica. So while making his home here, he could not help but to bring a bit of his home to this beautiful island.

Pizza Please! offers pizza made with the authentic Italian method, as the chefs are trained by Italian chefs, according to Giuliani. Guests can expect to indulge in the traditional pepperoni, ham and pineapple pizzas but since the establishment is Jamaican, he knew that he had to have a few Jamaican toppings to this Italian favourite. Some of the toppings include plantain, callaloo, jerked pork and chicken, just to name a few, with a customer favourite being barbecued fish. There are even vegetarian pizza, and the dough itself is vegan – no animal product. Speaking of the dough, Giuliani is clear that pizza is not a fast food as he notes that the preparation of the dough, to get it just right, actually takes 24 hours.

The taste of Italy at Pizza Please! does not end with the pizza; they offer mouth-watering pasta that will touch that spot in your stomach that just longs to be satisfied by Alfredo goodness. They offer chicken Alfredo, shrimp and veggie. Pasta is also done to order, so you get it hot and fresh. Now, if you have a problem with choosing whether or not you want pasta or pizza then you are in luck, because you do not have to; instead, you can choose the pasta pizza.

If by chance you find your way in this delightful diner but not quite feeling for either of these options, you still have a choice of ordering chicken meals. This includes a quarter chicken, whether it be herb roast, fried or barbe-fried, along with your choice side of either Alfredo pasta, potato wedges, a slice of pizza or breadsticks, along with steamed vegetables.

As it pertains to combos, the pizza box that is offered at the Village Plaza location has made it way over to the Half-Way Tree spot. Priding themselves on variety, customers get to choose any six of their pizza out of the offerings on that day for their pizza box. Variety is the spice of life and Giuliani wants to ensure that when customers come to Pizza Please! they leave feeling satisfied.

Pizza Please! is located at 2 Hope Road, Shop #4 (behind Mandela Park at the Papine bus stop in Half-Way Tree). For delivery, call 1-876-669-4168.
