MR. BREAKFAST is a small bistro in Barbican that actively redefines breakfast. And it’s the one place that will surely have you saying goodbye to the typical and boring breakfast.

Now celebrating its first anniversary, Mr. Breakfast continuously woos taste buds with a variety of delicious treats, namely gourmet pancakes, French toast, and waffles. The bistro also has plans to relocate to Holborn Road soon.

Matthew Johnson, is the owner and skilful chef who keeps surprising foodies with interesting and delicious blends of breakfast options. He grew up eating pancakes and waffles and dreamt of an IHOP in Jamaica. This, he knew , would be pricey so, he decided to create his own breakfast eatery.

“Where in Jamaica can you get gourmet pancakes like tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake, red velvet, and so much more? We have heard your cries, and we are responding,” Johnson said.

“I have seen where the Jamaican palate has been changing over the years. [And I believe this is] the opportune time to give the people what they want: fun and exciting menu items at affordable prices. We strongly believe that quality food can and should be had at affordable prices,” he told

Johnson, who has been making pancakes from as early as 10 years old, attributed his culinary skills to his mother and aunt, who themselves are masters of the art.

The morning-time eatery currently opens its doors only on Saturdays and Sundays but plans to extend its services throughout the entire week once they settle at the new location in a few days.

TANTALISING EXPERIENCE

The culinary artist, credits his meals as the best and promises that patrons will have more than a tantalising , palatable experience. With only one bite of one of the delicious breakfast choices, Mr. Breakfast gives the assurance that you will never go back to the typical breakfast options. Johnson says, you cannot go wrong with any of the choices at the eatery, but there are some meals that you have to try.

“From the line of our gourmet pancakes, I would definitely say our strawberry cheesecake pancakes, and our maple cinnamon plantain waffle sandwich with egg and bacon are our top choice,” he said.

So, go ahead and get your breakfast.
