Digicel offers full range of ICT solutions

-

DIGICEL JAMAICA is a leading provider of information communication technology (ICT) solutions to the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector, offering a full range of ICT solutions, including systems-integration services, managed support services and network-access solutions.

The Dennis O’Brien-owned telecommunications firm began its operations in Jamaica in 2001 and is now a key partner in the constantly evolving BPO sector, offering mobile communications and business solutions.

Digicel has developed tremendous expertise in delivering managed services and successfully handling large integration projects that include regional distribution, as well as post-sales support.

“Our team of expert resources consists of Digicel premium corporate care, pre-sales and post-sales support teams, along with a highly skilled and qualified ICT sales and project management team who provide proactive monitoring and management of our end-to-end service delivery and customer experience,” says company’s published profile.

Digicel says that it employs a consultative approach to the customer engagement process and represents the best-ofbreed technology providers. This affords it the opportunity to customise the best solution that will fit customers’ business needs.

“Engineers work with our vendor partners to ensure that you are on course with technology and that the very best is offered,” the company states. “We hold the highest accreditation and certification in the Caribbean with Cisco, Avaya and Microsoft (to mention but a few). Therefore, we do not just resell their solutions; we master them.”

While other telecoms operators have had to diversify services to meet growing customer demands, Digicel says that it has expanded its services to include fibre-to-thehome and fibre-to-the-business offerings to meet customers’ needs.

FIBRE NETWORK

“Digicel has the most modern and reliable regional fibre network providing state-of-the-art delivery of managed solutions,” the company profile claims.

“Our sister company, Deep Blue, is currently investing over US$500M to further expand its undersea fiber network to provide additional capacity and redundancy. This investment will positively impact inward direct investment, quality of life, quality of experience, and indeed the economy in general,” the company states.

“As part of our network design, our primary routes to the Internet will pass south of the hurricane belt, and we will be the first regional provider to enter the US on both the eastern and western coast of Florida, which will provide additional resilience on our network in the time of natural disasters.

“This increased level of network diversity will significantly improve the resilience of our services and will be a major differentiator for all of our managed service offerings,” Digicel indicates.

Digicel’s state-of-the-art true end-to-end fibre network sees Digicel customers benefiting from the fastest fibre to the home and Internet protocol,” the company adds.

The company says that it offers speeds of up to 1,000mbps (1gbps) in addition to a modern and resilient fibre backbone and has expanded its data centres across the region.

“These data centres are fully replicated and geo-redundant, providing business continuity and peace of mind during natural and other disasters. We ensure that your company’s data is secure with best-in-class security networks and products,” declares Digicel.
