Visionary Outsourcing Solutions – two decades of leadership experience
DESPITE BEING just two years old, Visionary Outsourcing Solutions (VOS) boasts more than two decades of experience in its leadership structure. Denise Campbell, founder and CEO of VOS, started as an agent in 1996 and moved up the various levels in the outsourcing business. She has been team leader, supervisor, floor manager and sector director for a particular internationally owned firm that has been operating in Jamaica for more than nine years.
However, in 1996, as part of a restructuring exercise, her former employer decided to make her position redundant.
While some might have gone into a different occupation or used their experience and expertise to gain other lucrative employment in the sector, Campbell, immediately approached by one of her many former clients started her own BPO operation.
Campbell then used the money she received for her redundancy package to start VOS two months later with five employees. She now boasts over 70 employess.
“It has always been a desire of mine, after learning the pros and cons of the sector and realising the many opportunities on offer in the sector, that with proper planning I can start my own outsourcing operation.
“So, two months after leaving my former place of employment VOS opened its doors at 30-34 Market Street in Montego Bay,” recounted Campbell, who hails from Irwin in St James.
Denise Campbell and her team offer a wide range of customer service, inbound and outbound call-centre solutions, sales and business to business in a “very diversified and more of a traditional BPO operation”, according to her description.
