Abrahams’ column crude, lurid
THE EDITOR, Sir:
AS A teacher of young adults, a parent, father and husband, I was embarrassed reading Michael Abrahams’ online column, ‘When a woman says ‘no’’, on August 13, 2018, which on one hand was graphic and lurid, but, on the other hand, was written as if it were a joke.
Michael Abrahams, who is billed as a gynaecologist and obstetrician, has an approach to sexual consent that is crude, somewhat titillating, and borderline pornographic.
An article coming from a doctor about such matters – such as demand for sexual favours or intimacy – must have more gravitas.
