‘Tata’ reaches 108

PA­TRI­ARCH CHARLES Ed­ward James of Hopewell, West­more­land, last week cel­e­brated his 108th birth­day with friends and fam­ily hail­ing the man they af­fec­tion­ately call‘Tata’.

Born Au­gust 17, 1910, Tata is the old­est per­son in his dis­trict and one of the old­est in Ja­maica. Tata, who was pre­de­ceased by his life­long love, his wife Louise, is the fa­ther of seven chil­dren, six alive, and a host of grand, great grand, great-great grand and great-great-great grand­chil­dren.

He is in good health and sup­ports him­self in­de­pen­dently in his day-to-day ac­tiv­i­ties.
