Ribbiz opens second location downtown

-

KINGSTON’S FOOD and entertainment options have recently been expanded by the official opening of Ribbiz Ocean Lounge on the historic Victoria Pier in downtown Kingston.

Ribbiz Ocean Lounge, the most recent addition to the Ribbiz brand, follows its older sibling Ribbiz Ultra Lounge, located in the Barbican Centre, St Andrew.

The two-night star-studded launch event featured a media mingle on night one and an official opening party on night two. The Ribbiz Media Mingle integrated some of the most wellknown media personalities, editors, producers, and faces of corporate Jamaica in a nauticalthemed, food-infused atmosphere.

The mingle introduced guests to delicious menu options and the staff and vibe of the Ocean Lounge. Night one saw speeches and greetings from Ribbiz corporate partners J. Wray and Nephew, Digicel, Loose Cannon Tours, and the Kingston and St Andrew Munipal Corporation through the Mayor of Kingston His Worship Councillor Delroy Williams, as well as declarations from the directors, Don Creary, Kamal Bankay and Brian ‘Ribbi’ Chung.

In true Ribbiz style, top-notch entertainment by Third Dimension’s DJ Tyler provided the ultimate centrepiece as guests moved between the large indoor space, open deck and the Loose Cannon catamaran docked just outside.

GOOD TIMES

Opening night two brought the best of both worlds to the waterfront as it combined corporate Jamaica with influencers and socialites. In attendance were former world-record holder Asafa Powell, State Minister Alando Terrelonge, Love and Hip Hop: Miami cast member Gabby Douglas, and costume designer Annaixe, among many others. The night’s entertainment was provided by veteran sound system Renaissance Disco, with DJ 3D at the helm. The food, libations and good times flowed as guests partied into the night.

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange brought remarks, commending the directors for their bold investment in bringing life back to downtown Kingston. The minister said,“With the declaration of entertainment zones coming, the Victoria Pier in downtown Kingston will be one of the first spaces declared.” Following Grange’s speech were remarks from Member of Parliament for St Mary Western and Minister of Transport and Mining Robert Montague, who, in a short address, said he was impressed by the investment and expects the brand to do well.

The opening of the Ribbiz Ocean Lounge brings to two the location count, with co-director Kamal Bankay revealing that Ribbiz will be further expanding to include Ribbiz Ultra Club, set for Constant Spring Road, as well as an additional project for Miramar, Florida, in the near future.
