SERHA says Jubilee has elevator challenges
THE SOUTH East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) has advised that the Victoria Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is currently experiencing challenges with the elevators at the facility, which may cause inconvenience to patients and visitors.
According to SERHA, a technical team is currently working assiduously to repair one of the two elevators, and contingency plans are being implemented to reduce, as best as possible, any inconvenience that may be caused.
In addition, work is currently under way at the facility to replace the second elevator under a project being funded by the National Health Fund. The installation is expected to be completed by the first week in January. The elevator currently being repaired is also slated to be replaced once the installation of the first elevator is complete.
VJH is one of four facilities within SERHA that have benefited from the elevator replacement project. Two elevators were replaced at the National Chest Hospital, one at the Princess Margaret Hospital, and another one at the Spanish Town Hospital as part of efforts to improve service delivery in public health facilities.
“SERHA apologises for any inconvenience the public may experience during this period, and we urge the public to bear with us as we work to improve the elevator system in our facilities,” said a release from the authority.
