THE SOUTH Manchester-based Frankfield Primary and Infant School was on Friday, December 14, presented with a state-ofthe-art multimedia system valued at more than J$550,000. The donation was made by USbased past students and corporate friends.

The gift was the first of three phases and included a 70-inch smart television with a rollaway stand, a Microsoft Surface laptop, and a portable publicaddress system consisting of a power speaker with a mixer and a microphone.

The formal presentation and dedication on behalf of the past students to principal Jason Scott was made by Bishop Samuels of the Jamaica Pentecostal Church of God of Mizpah.

Bishop Samuels urged the students, “Protect and take care of the equipment, and cultivate a spirit of volunteerism so that one day you, too, can pay if forward to the next generation. I pray that God will bless and stimulate your young minds to embrace the knowledge you are getting on the road to becoming worthwhile citizens.”

Nichole D. Plummer-Donaldson, organiser and a past student of Frankfield Primary and Infant School, says that giving back still resonates in the words of former US President John F. Kennedy, who said, “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country”.

She said her mission is to continue providing educational assistance to her alma mater with the hope of fostering more unique opportunities while fulfilling her role in doing what she can for Jamaica.

Also contributing to the donation were Cristina MarianiMay, Pamela Mariani of Banfi Vintners – United States, Stanley Gilpin of Gillo Realty Corporation – United States, some caring past students, and giving friends.
