ISCF, Best Dressed Chicken partner to impact youth
THE BEST Dressed Chicken 60 School Tour made its final stop at Denbigh High last Tuesday. The tour, designed to impact students’ lives and equip them with morals and values based on biblical teachings, made 20 stops reaching over 30,000 students from more than 25 schools across Kingston, St Ann, St James, Westmoreland, Manchester, Clarendon, St Catherine, and St Thomas.
“What we wanted to do was to go back into the schools and instil the same values we learnt when we were growing up. We wanted to meet the students where they are using music, dance and drama to highlight positive solutions to the challenges they face. This has allowed us to connect with the students tremendously,” stated Avadaugn Sinclair, regional marketing manager, Best Dressed Chicken.
Sinclair also noted that while the tour had come to a close, the major work was just about to begin in the schools. In partnership with Inter-School Christian Fellowship (ISCF), arrangements have been made to facilitate Bible studies for students who wish to learn more about Christ.
ISCF General Secretary Sheldon O’Connor stated, “Because we are already in the schools, it made sense for Best Dressed Chicken to partner with us. We have students, teachers and other community members who will continue the work after the tour. Over 5,000 young people have committed their lives to the Lord, and through the ISCF groups in the schools, we have prepared a programme to disciple these students.”
Jamaica Broilers has purchased an introductory study guide, and ISCF volunteers will lead students through the six-week Bible study.
