End special treatment for delinquent parliament­arians!

Professor Trevor Munroe writes: “Ackee thieves and ordinary Jamaicans who break the law are punished under the law. So too should parliament­arians who break the law requiring the timely submission of completed statutory declaratio­ns. MPs over the years, who have broken the statutory declaratio­n requiremen­t, have either not been prosecuted or been let off with a tap on the wrist. Eliminatin­g long-standing inequity in law enforcemen­t and reducing disrespect for the rule of law in Jamaica require the public to demand an end to the special treatment of parliament­arians.” [Read full column in The Sunday Gleaner tomorrow].
