End special treatment for delinquent parliamentarians!
Professor Trevor Munroe writes: “Ackee thieves and ordinary Jamaicans who break the law are punished under the law. So too should parliamentarians who break the law requiring the timely submission of completed statutory declarations. MPs over the years, who have broken the statutory declaration requirement, have either not been prosecuted or been let off with a tap on the wrist. Eliminating long-standing inequity in law enforcement and reducing disrespect for the rule of law in Jamaica require the public to demand an end to the special treatment of parliamentarians.” [Read full column in The Sunday Gleaner tomorrow].
