Creative meal solutions

- Angella Grandison-Reid Consumer Services Manager Grace Foods & Services Company

GRACE KITCHENS and Consumer Services Centre was opened in 1969 with one clear mandate in mind, to provide economical and creative meal solutions to homemakers and their families by utilising Grace-branded and Grace-owned products. The team of dynamic culinarians and home economists at Grace Kitchens has implemented meaningful programmes over the years, which has endeared Jamaicans to us. Careers were born, marriages were saved, yes, it’s true, as young wives would call us for help from baking a cake to preparing their Christmas hams. The team included the late Doreen Kirkcaldy, Pauline Chin Sue, the late Dr Heather Little-White, Chef Mazie Miller, Angella Grandison-Reid, Shereen Codner-D’Aguillar, and Carlene Holness, among other dedicated and distinguished members.

Over the years, Grace Kitchens

has evolved with programmes and activities that are specific to and targeted at our consumers’ diverse needs. Our Consumer Complaint Unit has undergone a name change to that of Consumer Feedback and Satisfaction. This unit has set us apart as we continue to exceed our consumers’ expectations.

Over the years, Grace Kitchens has executed key programmes, including:

o Trailblazer Road Shows

o Creative Cooking

o Creative Living Radio Programme

o Product Development and Sensory Analysis

o Nutrition Clubs in Schools

o Breakfast Feeding Initiatives and Donations

o Reggae Boyz Nutrition Programme and Olympics Nutrition Programme

o Sports Nutrition Programmes

o Special Events including major expositions

Food is an important part of any event, and Grace Kitchens truly understands. That is why we make it our mantra ‘as the good food dem’ to continue this crucial activity. We have adapted our recipes, modified some, and developed new ones with health and wellness in mind, mindful of changing tastes and preferences, among other variables.

Over the years, Grace Kitchens has won several awards and accolades for which we stand proud. Let me salute all the hard-working staff members, contractors, partners, suppliers, and well-wishers who assisted in making us the dynamic force we are in the consumer services landscape.
