Performers take a water break from rehearsal for the Grand Gala Independence celebrations, which will be held at the National Stadium in Kingston on August 6. The performers spent hours in 32 degrees Celsius weather finalising pieces to be performed at the gala being organised by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission under the theme ‘One Nation ... One People’. Approximately 1,000 performers will be on show in Kingston. This year, the inaugural Western Gala will also be held at the Catherine Hall Sports Complex in Montego Bay, St James.
