Arm women against killers

- DONALD J. MCKOY donaldmckoy876@gmail.com

THE EDITOR, Sir:

AS A deeply concerned citizen of Jamaica, I am throwing out this question to the public: Should Jamaican women be given guns to protect themselves against criminals who are kicking down their doors and slaughtering them like wild animals?

I hope I am not being selfish by focusing on the women only, because we all need protection, but I am looking at the weaker vessels. It seems that gunmen are targeting our women more than men these days.

And, even if the women were to be given guns to help themselves in the fight against crime or to save their lives, they would have to be trained to use them, especially those who have never held a pistol.
