Gays hijacking Emancipendence

- TEDDYLEE GRAY teddylee.gray@gmail.com Ocho Rios, St Ann

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WHY ARE we Jamaicans letting a minority community hijack the real meaning of Emancipation and Independence by having gay pride celebration at the same time? Are we now trying to equate slavery with homosexuality?

In 2015, the gay community in Jamaica strategically picked Emancipation Day and Independence Day to celebrate Gay Pride Week. Call me paranoid for believing that if this celebration continues for the next 20 years, such activity will be normalised.

The month of June is already for

gay pride celebration, so why can’t the gay community here have their Pride celebrations in June also? Why are they disturbing the peace by celebrating homosexuality in the month that slavery ended?

The real symbol and message of the rainbow has been changed by gay activists. We’ve also seen where the gay agenda has hijacked the black agenda worldwide. Homosexuality does not assist the black community; it hurts us.

We must resist these types of celebratiosn that ain’t part of our culture.
