Grand Gala awesome

THE EDITOR, Sir:

OVER THE years, I have always looked forward to watching Jamaica’s Grand Gala. This year’s was no different.

I was transfixed to the TV screen. I kept moving from one network to the next to not miss an element.

The Jamaica 57 production was an awesome, electrifying showcase from start to finish – from the melodious voices of the primary-school children to the closing performance of one of my favourite present-day artistes, Koffee.

I was truly happy to see Dr Rita Marley being honoured. That brought tears to my eyes and a feeling of nostalgia. Her presence and Sizzla’s performance electrified the stadium.

I am certain that the visiting president, Uhuru Kenyatta, was royally entertained.

Thank you, Simone ClarkeCooper of TVJ. You hosted beautifully and were fashionably attired.
