Continue pursuing your mission
FOR 21 years, the Jamaica Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers (JACAP) has collectively managed performing, mechanical and synchronisation rights in musical works.
Indeed, Jamaica’s creative industry has benefited from JACAP’s platforms which have managed operations and relationships, providing quality service with integrity to all its stakeholders. In that regard, I commend JACAP for being the vanguard of protection, agitating for partnerships and varying transformative improvements in the creative industry.
Through promoting a culture of openness and cultural respect, JACAP has operated with the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and truth. JACAP’s organisational culture of excellence has always fuelled their commitment to producing quality work and keeping abreast of changes in the industry. I also want to encourage the members to continue to dedicate yourselves to increase royalties as the association benefits its members through building sustainable relationships As JACAP commemorates its 21st anniversary under the theme ‘JACAP: Progressive Pioneers – 21 Years and Counting’, I urge you to continue pursuing your mission ‘to be at the forefront of the development of Jamaica’s music industry; ensuring optimum returns for our members – composers, authors and publishers – and increased economic benefits for the nation equal to the worldwide popularity of our cultural and creative products’.
All the best in your endeavours. ANDREW HOLNESS, ON, MP Prime Minister
