Toni-Ann Singh has a special anointing

, TOO, rejoiced when Toni-Ann Singh was crowned Miss World. However, sometimes some joy is misplaced ‘upstaging’! That, too, is a strategy to steal another’s thunder.
During the competition, Miss Trinidad, Tya Ann Jane Ramey, was crowned Continental Queen of the Caribbean. Miss Nigeria Nyekachi Douglas, earned the place of Top Model, while Miss Jamaica, ToniAnn Singh, placed 40th.
Miss Nigeria was also first runner up in the Sports Competition. Both Miss Nigeria and Miss Trinidad were team players in the winning ‘Green’ team. Jamaica appeared not to have even competed in those events. Miss Nigeria also placed in the Top 10 of Beauty With A Purpose competition.
But it was exceptional talent that shot out. Not just raw, earthy novice, amateur apprentice bellowing. Toni-Ann’s victory was decades in the making. Just review her childhood music videos. I believe that she has a special anointing. She actually is saving Jamaica from self-destruction, right now, in more ways than we
can ever imagine. In her interviews at the Miss World pageant and those that have followed since, she shows how to turn the other cheek. Do not allow yourself to be pulled in several directions. Focus instead on the goal at hand. She is truly an inspirational leader.
ONE FOCUSED QUEEN
Singing does not mean giving the entire alphabet along with all the possible fabric located in the world. It is sticking to the a, b, c, d, e, f, g. The combinations of flats and sharps thereof will make the necessary harmony. Our ‘artistic scholars’ can blend with Singh on that score! That is what ‘classical’ training creates. An amazing performance platform.
Sorry to say, I am one that has learnt the hard way. There is little hope in ‘sister or woman bonding’. All women need to independently be their own best friend. Stick to your goals, with your nose pressed to success.
History is a cruel teacher. It will kill you right there on the spot. Regrettably, we were sold into slavery by our kith and kin. Thankfully, the ‘Singh’ is one focused queen!
