Gleaner offers free subscriptions to COVID-19 frontline workers

-

THE GLEANER Company (Media) Limited (GCML) has today provided unrestricted access to its publications for the next three months to thousands of frontline workers in the COVID-19 fight.

Beneficiaries include doctors, nurses, policemen and women, soldiers, as well as teachers who are impacted by school closures. The offer, done through their respective associations, provides them access to the exact electronic replica of the printed newspaper daily including all stories, notices, advertisements and classifieds.

The offer, The Gleaner says, is but a small token of its recognition and appreciation of the daily sacrifices made by frontline workers, who are additionally facing the abrupt dislocation experienced by all Jamaicans who have to attend to their own family situations but give the highest national service during the COVID19 pandemic.

The Gleaner is a subsidiary of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group. “We are driven by the belief that, during trying times, we are called upon to support each other to restore some semblance of normalcy to our country,” stated General Manager Garfield Grandison. “We applaud all members, on the frontlines, who put aside their fears each day to help all Jamaicans here and within the diaspora.”

GCML is also currently offering all Jamaicans the opportunity to subscribe to the company’s youth publications including The Children’s Own and Youthlink, free of charge, during this crisis, for the next three months. “At GCML, education is at the heart of the organisation’s corporate social responsibility and supports the mantra that Every Child Must Learn,“said Suwannee Caine, head of marketing and sponsorships.

The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited also wishes to remind all consumers who have activated a seven-day print subscription, that they are already entitled to free access to the ePaper during the period of their subscription and it stands ready to register persons wishing to have print copies delivered to their home or office during this time. Contact must be made with The Gleaner’s circulation office, based at North Street in Kingston, at (876) 932-6179.

The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited, subsidiary of The RJRGLEANER Communications Group, comprises media operations in Jamaica, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
