100 per cent COVID compliance at cinemas

– The STAR, July 15, 2020 THE PALACE Amusement Company prides itself on the highest standards of operations at all levels and since reopening on July 8, has remained vigilant in the implementa­tion and maintenanc­e of mandated safety standards against COVID-19 at all of its cinemas. Here’s how it’s done:

MASKS ARE A MUST

All patrons are required to wear masks.

Palace Amusement’s frontline staff is trained and outfitted with masks. The servers at the concession are also masked and wear gloves to maintain food safety.

ENTRY TO CINEMAS

Temperatur­e checks are done upon entry. Social distancing is observed at all box offices, queues are clearly marked with a distance of six feet between each person and the next.

LOBBIES

Queues at the concession counters are also clearly outlined for required social distancing.

AUDITORIUM­S

Entry to each auditorium is one way in, one way out.

The company now sells no more than 60 per cent of capacity in order to maintain social distancing.

A maximum of four persons from the same household can sit together as a group. Individual patrons or groups are separated by a gap of two seats.

SPECIAL AIR FILTERS AND CONTROLLED AIRFLOW

The air-conditioni­ng system at all cinemas are equipped with maximum efficiency MERV 13 filters, which are designed to meet top air filtration standards. In addition, the seating in all auditorium­s is designed so that movie audiences are all seated in the same direction of the airflow.`

CLEANING AND SANITISATI­ON

Sanitisati­on stations are set up at convenient points throughout the cinemas.

Cleaning and sanitisati­on of all cinemas has been ramped up between shows to ensure a safe and relaxed atmosphere for all.

We must remain mindful of the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to observe the recommende­d health protocols. We are all in this together.
