SAINT models behold major beauty campaigns

S‘Every job opportunity is a gift, and my journey in the modelling industry has given me many presents over the years that I never take for granted.’

AINT INTERNATIONAL models Aurelie Giraud, Aworo Mayowa and Wayne Booth are ‘serving face’ for some of the world’s top makeup brands. The model trio is starring, separately, in high-gloss campaigns for Fenty Beauty, YSL Beauty, and Rose Inc.

For Martiniquan Giraud, who co-stars with A-list American actress Zoe Kravitz in the new campaign for the YSL Beauty Touche Eclat illuminating pen, she is exceedingly proud to see her work for Yves Saint Laurent’s makeup brand now prominently showcased at in-store retail locations, online, and across multiple platforms. “I recently saw the campaign on-screen at Sephora here in Paris. I was so shook, that I cried. It was a very special moment. I even have friends who told me they’ve seen it in Bangkok, how insane is that?” Giraud shared with The Gleaner on the phone from The City of Lights, where she relocated with her five-year-old daughter Lou last August.

And what was her experience working with Kravitz, who currently stars as Catwoman in the hit, big-budget action film The Batman? “Zoe was very kind and so sweet,” Giraud revealed. “She even FaceTimed her dad on set and he told me I was gorgeous. I could have died right then and there. I’ll never forget that shoot.”

SURREAL, HUMBLING, EXCITING

Meanwhile, in New York, Jamaican Booth is still tickled pink by the February drop of her Fenty Beauty makeup campaign. Appearing in the Fenty Icon collection’s new medium, mauve lipstick, the model star from James Avenue, Ocho Rios, told The Gleaner “it’s so surreal, humbling, and exciting all at the same time, seeing yourself in a makeup ad. “Knowing it’s for Rihanna’s beauty line that I’ve always admired and also use, it’s icing on the cake for me.”

The north-coast resort photographer-cum-jet set model is no stranger to starring for major beauty brands. She previously was a face for both MAC Cosmetics and Chanel Beauty in 2019. “Every job opportunity is a gift, and my journey in the modelling industry has given me many presents over the years that I never take for granted,” mused a reflective Booth.

Across the Atlantic, Nigerian Mayowa is the latest to join the ranks of SAINT’s global cosmetics stars. She can be seen pouting for the satin lip colour refillable lipstick, a recently launched campaign for Rose Inc., an earth-friendly beauty brand founded by British supermodel/actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

I FEEL ABSOLUTELY BLESSED

With her face splashed across bus and subway stations around London, the project shot in January stirs up an emotional floodgate. She gives credit to a higher source. “I can confirm it’s a miracle and I’m grateful to God for this. I feel absolutely blessed,” she said. “The Rose Inc. team was amazing and my agents here in London are extra supportive and have made working in the city a welcoming environment for me.”

Exclusive beauty contracts are par for the course for the SAINT International model army. Last November, Naki Depass was a face for NARS Cosmetics. New York resident supermodel Tami Williams inked a historic deal with Maybelline in 2020, and appeared in ads for Chanel Beauty, a year prior; while Christina Knight ‘smized’ for Fenty Beauty’s ad campaign in 2017.
