A job well done, thank you

- Dr Seni Ononuju

WORLD FAMILY Doctor Day (WFDD) was declared by WONCA in 2010 and is celebrated annually since then. It is a day when family doctors across the globe are recognised and honoured for the work that they do caring for their patient’s health and wellbeing. Jamaica is no exception and has celebrated WFDD annually since its adoption nine years ago. 2022 marks the ninth year of the WFDD celebration in Jamaica.

In recognition of this day, the Caribbean College of Family Physicians Jamaica Chapter deeply appreciates, acknowledges, and congratulates our family doctors for the holistic care administered to our patients throughout the years and especially during this COVID-19 pandemic era. These doctors have been working assiduously and unreservedly to administer care to our patients with acute illnesses and chronic diseases in both the private and public healthcare settings.

There is no better time than now to say, “Thank You” to all our family doctors, frontline healthcare professionals/ workers and allied healthcare professionals and practitioners for a job well done in addressing the health challenges of our population across the island, despite the financial constraints associated with operating in a publicly overburdened healthcare system.

Happy World Family Doctor Day!
