FOR YEARS Ms Morris and her four children endured unpleasant living conditions that impacted their lives negatively and they prayed that help would one day find them. Chas. E. Ramson Limited and Food For The Poor recognised the hardship faced by this family and partnered for the first time on the Shelter with a Purpose initiative to make their living condition better than it was before. The receiving family, overcome by emotion, expressed their gratitude for the house they now have.

On July 28, 2022, this remarkable project was executed when Ms Morris and her children were provided with a well-needed home that they could comfortably enjoy and call their own. The handover of the house was done by Mr Phillip Ramson, managing director, Chas. E. Ramson Limited; Kathryn Silvera, director of sales and marketing, Chas. E. Ramson Limited, and the team at Chas. E. Ramson Limited; and Mrs Marsha Burrell-rose, development and marketing manager at Food For The Poor Jamaica.

Mr Phillip Ramson voiced that, “Chas. E. Ramson Limited is celebrating their 100th anniversary this year, and as part of the celebration, we want to give back to communities in Jamaica. We would not be here had it not been for the people of Jamaica. Today, we have built a house through partnership with Food For The Poor, and we are delighted to be on board.”

Mrs Burrell-rose stated that “We are sure you are looking forward to going through that door knowing that you are hearing the rain but not feeling it. It is two different feelings. So, we are grateful to be here knowing that we just provided shelter for you and your family. Enjoy from Ramson’s and Food For The Poor.”

Chas. E. Ramson Limited, one of the leading distribution companies since 1922, understands the adverse economic effects that this family has experienced. As a part of their corporate social responsibility, the Ramsons family welcomed this opportunity to give back to the people of the Springfield community.
