Chas. E. Ramson Limited builds a house ... in Kingston
WITH THE deplorable living conditions that Mrs Williams and her son faced over the years that adversely affected their lives, Chas. E. Ramson Limited teamed up with Food For The Poor to construct a suitable house for this lady and her son. Being overwhelmed by emotion, Mr Williams, son of Mrs Williams, expressed his gratitude for the home they now have and can now enjoy.
Edna Williams is a 90-year-old visually impaired pensioner who has been sleeping in her landlord’s living room for quite some time. Luckily, she was accepted for the Food For The Poor Shelter with a Purpose initiative which Chas. E. Ramson Limited contributed to. On August 2, 2022, representatives of both entities built a brand-new house and a handover was done at a Kingston address, with Kathryn Silvera, director of sales and marketing, surrounded by the team at Chas. E. Ramson Limited and Mrs Marsha Burrell-rose, development and marketing manager, Food For The Poor.
Before the handover, Mrs Burrell-Rose expressed that, “Making an impact in the lives of individuals is something that she enjoys and is committed to doing daily. Not many people are blessed to be able to have a comfortable home to stay in, and as such, this initiative will make a difference in the lives affected.”
Similarly, while making the handover, Kathryn Silvera expressed that, “As part of our 100th anniversary, Chas. E. Ramson Limited wanted to make a significant contribution that would benefit the lives of Jamaicans. As without Jamaica and Jamaicans, our company could not be here to celebrate 100 years.”
This initiative was all part of Chas. E. Ramson Limited’s corporate social responsibility to give back to the community affected, foster a personal bond with individuals, and make an impact on the lives that are affected. Understanding the issues facing this family, Chas. E Ramson Limited was happy to be on board with this project and welcomed the chance to give back to this family.
