Classic cars take over Constant Spring

-

AUTOMOTIVE RUMBLED into Super Value Town Centre on Constant Spring Road last Sunday to see what the fuss was about. The Jamaica Classic Car Club (JCCC) hosted its lively social event, showcasing over 70 gleaming classics that left onlookers speechless.

The parking lot transformed into a vibrant display of automotive history, with curious shoppers stopping in their tracks to admire the impeccably maintained vehicles. The impressive turnout rivalled their January event, proving that not even the midday sun could dampen the public’s enthusiasm for these beauties.

“This was a better turnout than we expected,” said Naresh Potopsingh, the JCCC’s new president. “The attendees made it a fantastic meet, and the quality of classic cars on display was truly exceptional.”

Jason Lawson, the immediate past president, echoed Potopsingh’s sentiment. “It’s incredible to see the public connect with Jamaica’s history through these remarkable motorcars,” he remarked.

The show wasn’t over by closing time either. Cars continued to roll in until 7 p.m., with the most notable late entry being a head-turning Honda NSX. The buzz and excitement were palpable, a testament to the club’s dedication to keeping the passion for classic cars alive.

But the JCCC isn’t resting on its laurels. They are already in high gear for their next event: a Father’s Day celebration at Hope Gardens. The club promises an even bigger showcase, featuring never-before-seen classics and owners from across the island. Gearheads and families alike won’t want to miss this opportunity to step back in time and witness a true celebration of automotive heritage.
