Kevin Foote, the force behind Heart to Heart Records

In the decade spawning the mid- 80s to mid- 90s a multitude of males awashed with cash entered the music industry in two specific areas, promotion of stage shows and record production.

In both instances, the individuals brought only their strength of cash as knowledge of the industry was sadly lacking.

This gave rise to the fact that studio engineers were in effect the producers as the facilitators just brought the money to book studio time etc. At the other end of the spectrum, graphic artiste or radio personality, just about anyone with an idea of show promotion wore the hat of promoter, the upfront man.

Truth be told, some learnt on the job and went on to hone their craft and today can more than help themselves.

Enter the astute Kevin Foote, who brought musical experience into record producing based on years of hands on experience in the music business. Kevin started out as a selector on Sting International in St Thomas, where he spent five years.

From there he garnered valuable experience while spinning records. His next move was to Mello Construction then on to Cancer and Mega Force discos before moving on to selecting at G. T. Taylor’s Club Classic.

Kevin subsequently emigrated to Canada in 2008, a place he began visiting in 1999 and sought to make life for his growing family. Kevin never lost his love of or interest in music and fate brought him a golden opportunity when he walked into a barber’s shop and one of the barbers turned out to be the ultra talented Simple Rattigan. The two struck up a conversation and a partnership developed as a result of which Kevin decided to manage and produce Rattigan.

First up was an investment in the production of a music video for the song It Nuh Pretty which was recorded in 2009. Kevin then set up his record label Heart to Heart Records in February of this year. This was the precursor to establishing Rattigan as the complete entity songwriter/ vocalist and versatile performer.

To this end, Kevin has set up a team which will handle all things pertaining to Rattigan’s career his booking, PR, marketing, grooming and management will be done through Heart to Heart Records. Kevin is building up a catalogue as Rattigan, a prolific writer, has voiced a number of songs which will be released at the opportune time.

Taking things in his own meticulous style Kevin has already signed another act to his stable more on this anon.
