Several cases of chicken were reportedly stolen from a hijacked Caribbean Broilers ( CB) motor truck early Thursday morning, with the driver of the truck being taken to a location in Kitson Town and released.

The CB motor truck was discovered along the Dyke Road at 6 a. m. with its cargo of approximately 160 cases of chicken missing. The vehicle’s engine had also been left running at the time of its discovery.

The driver of the vehicle had also been forcibly placed in the trunk of a car by his captors and transported to an undisclosed location in Kitson Town, where he was released and left unharmed.

During the time of the vehicle’s discovery it had been believed that two bodies were discovered on board, however, according to corporate affairs manager of CB, Dr Keith Amiel, checks within his organisation revealed that no bodies were found inside.

“I have spoken with three different officials from the company including the fleet manager and there were no bodies associated with the truck. It was found empty, running with the key in the ignition and the driver was released,” he said.

Up to press time the police could not confirm the incident.
