Mobay United look to stand firm against Waterhouse

Red Stripe Premier League leaders Montego Bay United will look to maintain top spot when they face Waterhouse in eighth round action, at the Waterhouse Stadium in Drewsland tomorrow, starting at 5 p. m.

That contest is one of two scheduled on the day, as the Premier League Clubs Associatio­n ( PLCA) has scheduled two other games as part of their Monday Night football treat.

Also on tomorrow, August Town will meet Tivoli Gardens at the University of the West Indies Bowl in Mona, starting at 3 p. m.

On Monday night, there will be two night games. Boys’ Town tackle Arnett Gardens and Humble Lion challenge Sporting Central Academy in a Clarendon derby at Effortvill­e Community Centre in May Pen. Both games are set to kick- off at 7 p. m.

The other two games in the round have been reschedule­d until November 27. On that day its Cavalier versus Harbour View at Stadium East, starting at 4: 30 p. m. and Portmore United against Rivoli United, beginning at 7 p. m.

In tomorrow’s feature game, Montego Bay United coach Donovan Duckie is looking forward to a clash against the club where he was in charge at up to last season. He resigned due to personal reasons, and has since taken over at the Montego Bay club this season.

“It’s going to be a tough game for us. We know the quality players that are at Waterhouse,” Duckie told STAR Sports yesterday.

“Having coached at Waterhouse for almost two seasons, I left a good foundation there,” he declared. “It’s important for us to focus on our defensive system and regain our form in front of goal as we didn’t score in our last game,” Duckie added.

“It will be an interestin­g game, but we are going there for a positive result as it is tight going at the top of the league,” he pointed out.

Montego Bay United will be counting on attacking players Lesley St Fleur of the Bahamas and Allan Ottey, Dino Williams and others for victory.

Meanwhile, Junior Francis, coach of Waterhouse says his team has the firepower to beat Montego Bay United.

The Waterhouse team will rely on national senior team players Jermaine ‘ Tuffy’ Anderson, Richard McCallum, as well as Marvin Morgan, Nicholi Findlayson and Damarley Samuels to upstage the leaders.

In the day’s earlier game, surprise team August Town whose unbeaten run ended last week will be looking to rebound against Tivoli Gardens.
