Man charged for attemped bribe

ASt Catherine motorist who attempted to bribe members of the Island Special Constabulary Force in Spanish Town is now in police custody.

Charged with breaches of the Corruption Protection Act is Howard Reece of Fraser Content, St Catherine.

Reports are that about noon on Wednesday, the accused was seen driving a vehicle along March Pen Road.

He was stopped and his documents checked.

It was revealed the some of his documents had expired.

A ticket was being written for the violations when he allegedly took out $3,000 which he offered to a member of the party and asked him not to prosecute him.

He was cautioned and subsequently charged with attempting to bribe a constable.

Reece is booked to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court later this week.
