Stewart, Bryan back at Harbour View

Discarded national players – Damion ‘Stew Peas’ Stewart and Kavin Bryan – have both returned to Premier League outfit Harbour View for the remainder of the season.

Stewart, 35-year-old defender, rejoined his childhood team after his contract with Malaysian Super League Pahang expired in November.

Stewart, who last presented the Reggae Boyz in 2012, rejoined the Stars of the East in February. He played his first game for the club on Sunday against Waterhouse, where Harbour View were 2-1 winners.

Meanwhile Bryan, rejoined Harbour View during January’s transfer window, this after he was released by Vietnamese club Hanoi.

The 32-year-old striker, who is now injured, last represented the Reggae Boyz in 2014.

Harbour View’s coach, Ludlow Bernard, said both players will strengthen his team’s push towards winning this year’s Premier League title.

“Both players are not committed internationally (free agents) and so in the interim they have made themselves available,” said Bernard.

“They chose to be with us during this period and so they are trying to assist us in our journey towards this championships,” he said.

“These are Harbour View’s born and bred players and so it is not going to cost us anything at all,” Bernard said.

Bernard noted that despite the return of Stewart and Bryan to the Harbour View set-up, he will continue to play his young players in the competition.

“Our young players are still getting playing time because no other team has played more young players in the Premier League than Harbour View this season,” Bernard said.
