WITH THE intention of making things even more interesting at the 2016 GUJ Gosplash, organisers are planning to unearth new and exciting talents in time for the occasion. The plan comes in the form of a talent competition that will offer $100,000 in cash and prizes.

“This is similar to what we did at the inaugural staging of Gosplash in 2013, which saw Divine HP emerging as the winner,” said Markland Edwards, CEO of Action Entertainment. “There is a lot of talent in church, so this is another platform to show that gospel’s got talent.”

Applications are now open for participants to submit their entries before Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Entry forms and information on how to enter are available at www.actionentja.com, Edwards said.

Applicants must demonstrate an ability to sing, rap or deejay and the winner will receive the CUJ Gosplash Talent Trophy as well as a chance to perform on the big stage at CUJ Gosplash 2016. The winner will also have the opportunity to record a single and a one-year renewable management and booking contract with Action Entertainment.

CUJ Gosplash will be held at Sugarman Beach, St Catherine, on Monday, August 1. It will feature top local acts like DJ Nicholas, Prodi, Jermaine Edwards and Carey Sales. The headliner will be the Grammy-nominated gospel singer and songwriter Deitrick Haddon.
