Razor B, Don Don collab on ‘Diggy Diggy’
Dancehall artiste Razor B is set to ‘hot up’ the dancehall scene again with a new song called ‘Diggy Diggy’. The song was produced by Fabian Scott of Scottman Records and features St James-based recording artiste Don Don. Razor B said that the new track has the potential to be even bigger than Hot Up. “Any and every song has the potential to surpass any other song,” he explained. “I mean, Hot Up was one of my monster songs, and right now Bruk Back is doing amazing. I think Diggy Diggy has the potential to also do well. We have to wait and see. It only gets better as far as my career goes. I always try to beat the last song that I’ve done.”
CAREER PROPULSION
According to Don Don, the collaboration with Razor B is expected to propel his career to the next level. “I’ve been doing music for some time now, but I have not been intensifying my efforts in relation to getting out there as I was really more focused on the production side. So I now have the singles that I know can push me forward, and, as such, I am now officially launching my career to higher grounds,” said Don Don, who also has other songs like Gringo Step and Pretty Pon Mi Phone. Having worked with Don Don on Diggy Diggy, Razor B had high praises for the up-andcoming act, stating that the entertainer and his team were very professional.
“It was very good working with Don Don. His promoter and his producer are very professional. I was very comfortable working with him and I think the song is going to be a force to be reckoned with. It’s going to help with his career and my career,” he said, adding that Don Don has what it takes to become a big act in dancehall.
“He has a few things he needs to work on before he gets there, but I think he has the potential to become a star.”
Diggy Diggy was inspired by a popular dance craze in the Montego Bay area. The creator of the dance move, Dyema Attitude, known for her performances on the Passa Passa and Dutty Friday DVDs, spoke highly of Razor B’s endorsement of t he project.
“Razor B has an undeniable chemistry with the ladies at the forefront of the dancehall. Every dance tune released becomes the centre of controversy, and is a viral movement out and about at every party around the world,” said Dyema, who is also one of the creators of the ‘Dutty Wine’ dance move that took Jamaica by storm in 2006.
