International recording gospel artiste Rondell Positive will be starting 2017 on the right footing when he performs at the AIM First Fest gospel concert that is set for the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre on Monday, January 2.

The festival will be headlined by celebrity American pastor Deitrich Haddon, and will feature acts like Prodi, DJ Nicholas, Jabez, George Nooks, Joan Flemmings, and Carey Sayles.

Rondell Positive has been added to the line-up, and he sees this as an opportunity to start the year right.

“I am ending the year (2016) at the fireworks show, so indeed it will be a good start for the year to be a part of First Fest,” he said. “The expectation is that it is going to be a great show because for years there hasn’t been a great event at the beginning of the year for gospel, so we are looking forward to it.”

UPCOMING COMPILATION

He said fans of gospel music can expect to hear some new music that will be released on an upcoming compilation album.

“We are set to launch an album at the end of January. Something that has never been done in Jamaica, something called Dominion. So, we will definitely be doing a couple of the new songs,” he said.

The album is a compilation between Positive, Jermaine Edwards, Christina Roshay, and a hot new act called Ray Soul, as well as other acts from the Island Worship family.

Meanwhile, title sponsor for the event AIM Financial will have the draw for its ‘Cash Giveaway’ competition at approximately 8:30 p.m. during the concert. The competition that was launched on September 23 has a grand prize of $200,000.
