MY WIFE COULDN’T GET PREGNANT

-

Dear Pastor, On December 25 my wife and I will celebrate another anniversary. We met when we were students at a tertiary institution.

She was 19 and I was 21. For me, it was love at first sight. She told me two years after that she wasn’t impressed with me at all. She was more interested in my friend.

I was too short and she always dreamt of having a tall, handsome boyfriend. We studied together and helped each other with assignments, graduated together, and then we got married.

It took us five years to have a child together. Some of my colleagues used to tease me and offer suggestions to me on how to get my wife pregnant.

Some said I needed to drink punch and put eggs and peanuts in it with vanilla. I came home one day and saw my wife crying.

I asked her what was wrong and she said that she was sorry she got married. When I asked her why, she said she went to a baby shower and when she saw her friend with her big stomach before her she couldn’t deal with it.

Tears came to her eyes. That night I comforted my wife more than ever before, and I told her not to worry. I am sure she would get pregnant.

Pastor, three months later my wife was pregnant, and had twins. I was the proudest man in the world.

We read your column every day, and when you tell people to wait on t he Lord we know what you are saying because that is what we had to do.

Pastor, keep up the good work. Our children are doing well. We always wanted to have two children so we don’t need any more.

U.N. Dear U.N., I am so happy for your wife and yourself, and I thank you so much for sharing t he good news with my readers.

There are few things that you have said in your letter that I will not divulge. Your wife is a very private person and we do not want to embarrass her at all.

Some women can be very hard on others, especially when people are married and are childless. Folks usually make unkind statements about them.

I am glad that both of you have had a wonderful relationship and that your children are doing well. I know you feel like a real man.

You have given to your wife what she wanted, but really and truly, it is only God who can allow women to become pregnant.

The Bible says that he opens the wombs of women but he also has the power to close it.

May the good Lord be pleased to bless all couples whether they have children or not.

Pastor
