Anticipation high for Beenie Man Live at the Devon

-

The anticipation was high, but all plans to witness Beenie Man live had to be put on pause when rain poured across the island last week. This week, preparation is in high gear as Willcom Creative and SMA Talent Jamaica have announced the rescheduling of the Live at the Devon series launch event. The show will be held tomorrow at the Reggae Mill Bar in Devon House, St Andrew, starting at 9 p.m. Presold tickets will cost $1,000, while persons would have to pay $1,200 at the gate. “The highly anticipated live music series was slated to begin last week Thursday, however, due to the inclement weather affecting the Island, we had to postpone to this Thursday,” said Chad Williams, one of the promoters.

With a stellar catalogue and undeniable showmanship to his credit, the dancehall doctor Beenie Man will take centre stage Live at the Devon for an intimate unplugged performance.

FIRST IN NEW SERIES

The event, which is the first in a new series of live stagings being organised by Willcom Creative and SMA Talent Jamaica, will give live music lovers a chance to enjoy some of their favourite artistes like never seen before.

“The whole concept behind Live at the Devon was to showcase Jamaican entertainment in a different, unique way and to bring the fans closer to the artistes and their art. A lot of times, patrons are forced to enjoy a performance from a distance in a stage show environment, but this is not that. We wanted to tailor an event for those who wanted a more intimate experience. For our first staging, we decided to showcase Beenie Man, not only because of his extensive catalogue, but he is a master performer, one of the best in the business,” Williams said.
