JahDon releases music video
Reggae artiste and songwriter JahDon has added executive producer to his musical résumé.
The 25-year-old entrepreneur, who recently started his music company, Look Ya Noww Entertainment, has collaborated with film-maker and director 300KJA, and visual productions entity Bacchus Entertainment Services Ltd to create the video for his single Congo Bongo.
The song is the lead single off of his six-track digital EP.
The reggae ballad is what many would dub a Rasta love story. JahDon delivers a fun-loving story of a woman’s astonishment with the fact that she has fallen in love with a Rastaman.
“She woulda never know she love the Congo Bongo,” a line goes. This lyrical motif alludes to a time when Rastafarianism was severely stigmatised.
JahDon intends to use his platform and his art to continue to break down barriers that have colonised society and the music industry.
He has been heavily promoting his single and EP with concerts across the island.
In October, JahDon performed with veteran sound systems HiTension Sound and Stone Love. He was also part of the line-up on Ernie Smith in Concert at the Spiritz of Hanover Restaurant and Sports Bar, and he performed at the Portland Jam Fest at Shanshy Beach Complex, headlined by Capleton.
The Clarendon native was recently part of a children’s treat hosted by legendary goalkeeper and Canaan Heights native André Blake. He is set to perform at the Passion for Fashion Stage Show on Christmas Eve in May Pen, Clarendon.
The Congo Bongo music video is released on YouTube.
