Six shot, two fatally in separate incidents

-

Scene of crime investigators in Kingston had to be working around the clock between Monday night and yesterday morning after six people were shot, two fatally in separate incidents.

In the first incident on Monday night, several persons have been taken into custody in relation to a gun attack in Fletcher’s Land, central Kingston, which left one man dead and two people injured.

The incident took place at about 9:35 p.m.

One of the injured men, Tajay Nish, was admitted to the Kingston Public Hospital in critical condition.

“He is doing much better. The worst part is off. He did surgery and he is out of that,” his mother told THE STAR.

It is said that the other man was treated and released.

No motive has been established for the killing, and the police have bolstered their presence in the community to prevent further bloodshed.

THE STAR gathered that in the second incident, a man was killed on Crescent Road yesterday morning.

Two persons were also hospitalised for gunshot wounds.

Information reaching our news team is that at about 8 a.m., two men and a woman were standing in the community when a motor car drove up with men aboard.

The occupants opened fire hitting the group and sped away.

THE STAR was told that the injured residents were taken to hospital where one of the men was pronounced dead.

Up to press time, he was still unidentified.

The police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed the reports, and told THE STAR that investigations in both incidents are ongoing.
