The Inspectorate of Constabulary and the Independent Commission of Investigations are investigating a fatal shooting involving men who broke into a nightclub and stole thousands of dollars worth of equipment and liquor.

Information reaching THE STAR is that a 17-yearold and another man who was shot and injured are now in custody, while a third man escaped in a motor car.

Dead is 20-year-old Ryan Weir of a Shelly Avenue, Kingston 20, address.

Reports are that Weir and the injured man were shot during confrontation with the police and licensed firearm holders.

The police told our news team that at about 3 a.m. on Friday, Weir and the injured man were among a group of men allegedly robbing the establishment, which is located in Temple Hall, St Andrew.

THE STAR understands that when the men were accosted, they opened fire at the police and licensed firearm holders. Gunfire was returned and the two were hit. One 9 mm browning pistol fitted with an empty magazine was seized at the scene.

THE STAR gathered that at least three flat-screen televisions, liquor and sound equipment were removed from the establishment.

A source close to the investigation told THE STAR that the men apparently left with the items and returned for more when they were confronted.

The Corporate Communications Unit confirmed reports and told our news team that investigations are ongoing.
